Frequently asked questions

How do I join a team?

Ask your coach or team manager for the team's join code. Open Matchday Manager, tap Join a Team on the home screen, and enter the code. Once the coach approves your request, you'll be added to the team.

How do I create a team?

Sign in to Matchday Manager and tap Create a Team on the home screen. Give the team a name, choose a sport, and you'll be set up as the team's owner. You can then share the join code with players and parents.

I didn't receive my sign-in code. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first — some email providers filter one-time codes. If it's not there, tap Resend code in the app and wait up to 60 seconds. If you still don't receive it, email us and we'll help sort it out.

How do I add players to my team's roster?

Go to your team's Roster tab. Tap the + button to add a player. You can set their display name, jersey number, and optionally link a parent or guardian account. Players and parents can also request to join using the team's join code.

How do I let a parent run the scoreboard on match day?

Coaches and managers can track a match already. To let someone else do it — a parent on the sideline, say — the team owner or a manager marks them a Match Operator: go to the Team tab, tap Club Management, then Members, tap the person's name, and choose Make match operator. A "Match Operator" badge appears under their name.

The badge only grants live match tracking. It does not give them coach or manager powers over the roster, schedule, or team settings.

How do I run a live match?

Open the Match tab. On the day of the game, the scheduled match shows a Start button — before then it shows a countdown instead. If the game isn't on the schedule, use Start unscheduled match.

The tracker gives you large sideline-friendly buttons: Start / Pause / Resume for the clock, Goal and Note for events, and End half at the break — which reads End on the final period. Cards, substitutions, and water breaks are Matchday Premier features. On a free team those buttons look no different from the ones that work, but tapping one opens the subscription screen instead of logging the event — so check which plan your team is on before match day.

Made a mistake? Use Undo last event, or tap any event in the timeline to delete it. There's no need to restart the match.

Events are saved on your phone first and sync when you have a signal, so tracking keeps working on fields with poor reception. Everyone following the team sees the score update live.

What can I track during a match on Matchday Premier?

Premier unlocks four match-day controls that a free team doesn't have: Foul (yellow and red cards, with a "penalty awarded" option), Sub (which is what produces each player's playing time), Water breaks, and an Assist field on the goal sheet. It also adds full timeline editing, so a mis-tapped event can be corrected after the final whistle rather than only undone on the spot.

Premier belongs to the team, not to the person tracking. If the team is on Premier, everything above is already available to anyone with the Match Operator badge — there is nothing to switch on.

Why should I set a lineup before kick-off?

On a Premier team the match screen opens with a Set your lineup card. Choosing a starting XI and a bench is what lets the app track substitutions and playing time — without it, the Sub button has no one to move between the pitch and the bench.

It also means the lineup card sits above the match controls, so the Start, Goal and Foul buttons appear lower on the screen than they do on a free team.

How do push notifications work?

Matchday Manager sends push notifications for upcoming match kickoffs (24 hours and 2 hours before), schedule changes, new chat messages, and roster approvals. You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings → Matchday Manager → Notifications.

How do I stop receiving email notifications?

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link in the footer. You can use it to opt out of that category of email. Alternatively, contact us at support@matchdaymanager.app and we'll update your preferences.

How do I delete my account?

Email us at support@matchdaymanager.app with "Delete my account" in the subject line. We'll delete your account and all associated personal data within 30 days.

Note: if you are the owner of one or more teams, those teams will be deleted as well unless you first transfer ownership to another member.

I'm a coach. How many teams can I manage?

On the free tier you can manage up to 5 teams. Matchday Premier removes this limit and adds stats, analytics, and calendar export.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account or data from our servers. To permanently delete your account and data, contact us directly.
